FAQ
What is the difference between spherical and aspherical Fresnel lenses?
Spherical Fresnel lenses adopt simple concentric spherical grooves; aspherical lenses adopt optimized aspherical curve design to reduce optical aberration and improve light focusing accuracy.
Are Fresnel lenses suitable for high-definition imaging such as photography?
They are generally not recommended for high-resolution imaging. The stepped grooves will cause diffraction and stray light, failing to meet the high definition requirements of professional imaging.
What are the typical application scenarios of Fresnel lenses?
Widely applied in solar energy concentration, projectors, PIR human body sensors, stage lighting, magnifiers, camera viewfinders, traffic lights, VR/AR optical devices and other fields.
What are the classifications of Fresnel lenses?
Common types include spherical Fresnel lenses, aspherical Fresnel lenses, linear Fresnel lenses, cylindrical Fresnel lenses and infrared dedicated Fresnel lenses.
What materials are commonly used to produce Fresnel lenses?
Most are injection-molded with optical-grade polymer materials, such as PMMA, PC and PE. Optical glass and special optical resin are adopted for high-precision or high-temperature resistant applications.
What are the disadvantages of Fresnel lenses?
They have inherent chromatic aberration and edge diffraction effects, and are prone to image distortion. Their imaging clarity and contrast are lower than those of precision polished lenses.
